If they're not willing to revert, here's my comprehensive list of what I'd like to see altered with current contracts system:
1. Ability to sort by price, alphabetically and by seller, just like old escrow system
2. Remove the graphics from each auction entry. List only the ACTUAL item, the seller's text entry, bid price and buyout price. We don't need the picture-book presentation, it only makes the system more cumbersome.
3. A Global purchasing/selling functionality. My idea for this would be to make the most recent 2-5% (or whatever percentage ended up being significant enough while not being a burden to the servers) of posted contracts in each region get transmitted to a global list, not quite like the old escrow system but similar, and keep the broker's fees and taxes as they are so that if someone wants to re-spam their escrows to remain on the global list they will have to pay out the *** to do so. Honestly with brokers fees/taxes how they are, I don't see how spamming global over and overa could be feasible, it would tank our profit margin.
Buyers can buy inter-regionally. If this is a huge problem, make them at least able to buy off the small global contract list I've proposed.
Also, with my proposal Jita can no longer dominate global escrow, but being a major hub it will still have a larger list of entries appropriate to its market size.
4. Make a separate auction feature for BPs which requires no minimum ISK to create, keeps their clutter out of module escrow and keeps ours out of theirs.
5. At least double our max contract order limits. On any given day I have 40+ items I'm trying to sell, none of which I can put on market. I don't know if I need unlimited, but 15 will absolutely not do.
The present contract system absolutely sucks for traders and most buyers - I understand some of you guys like it very much, but I am going to guess that those of you who like it used the old escrow very little or really just use contracts to look for a *particular* item. Unfortunately, that's not how a lot of us work, and I've sold almost jack squat in the last week, at prices lower than I should be offering.
And to the poster who says we're afraid of actually thinking or working to make our money... let me show you my pages and pages of market records and research I've had to do on items to make trading work as well as I have. And ask any of my corpies if they think I understand buyer/seller psychology. I've put plenty of thought in.
/Signed for all above.
Escrow needed changes, yes. The new contracts system is a good idea, just the practical implementation of it needs work primarily in the UI side of things.
CCP have claimed that they want to reduce the number of people in hub systems but having the contracts system as it is will force me for one to have an alt permanently in Jita.
Please, CCP sort the whining that is bound to happen with a change and fix the mistakes with the contract system so that it is actually useable.
Sincerely,
